Patricia Hakong is a UK Chartered Accountant, with extensive experience in finance, risk management, and regulatory compliance in the general insurance and financial services sector. She is currently the Company Secretary and the Head of Finance & Risk Management at the Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA), with overall responsibility for the work of the Finance, Solvency II, and Regulatory Committees and their related sub-committees and working groups. In addition to dealing with Board matters, Patricia’s main areas of focus are UK and international financial and regulatory requirements for the Lloyd’s market, including Solvency II, risk management, internal audit, syndicate financial and regulatory reporting, loss modelling and capital setting.
Prior to joining the LMA, Patricia was respectively the Head of Market Reporting and Head of Accounting Policy at the Corporation of Lloyd’s. Her primary responsibility as Head of Market Reporting was Lloyd’s statutory reporting in the UK and worldwide, and the monitoring of Lloyd’s solvency. As Head of Accounting Policy, her key responsibilities included formulating and implementing proposals for a move to annual accounting by Lloyd’s syndicates.
Prior to joining Lloyd’s, Patricia was a senior auditor and consultant with a large firm of accountants, specialising in the UK general insurance and financial services sector.
Fredrik Österberg is an entrepreneur currently active in the alcoholic beverage, real estate, and financial services sectors. Having lived and worked in Sweden, the UK, and the US, he has 10+ years of experience of starting and running businesses.
In the wine industry, he is the founder and owner of Pedernales Cellars, Armadillo’s Leap Winery, Kuhlken-Österberg Wines, and Stonewall Industries. He is also the founder of the Texas Fine Wine movement, and a director of The Wine and Food Foundation of Texas and Texas Hill Country Wineries.
Mr. Österberg is the founder of Slottsviken, a real estate investment company listed on the Stockholm stock market, as well as several privately held real estate investment vehicles.
Ayman Alajmi is UK Chartered Insurer with track record of leadership and delivery of excellent results through strategically driving revenue and profit growth. Expertise in conventional & Islamic financial institutions in local and international venues (MENA, Europe, Asia and USA). Demonstrated ability to identify and troubleshoot critical issues impacting productivity, cost, distribution, customer services, products development, marketing, sales, and financial operations.
Ayman is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Braxtone Insurance Management, an independent Bahrain based insurance manager licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain. Braxtone is the official representative for AIG operations in Bahrain.
Prior to establishing Braxtone Insurance Ayman was the Regional Head of AIG’s Takaful operations and Managing Director of AIG’s operations in Bahrain (New Hampshire Insurance Company and Chartis Takaful Enaya) Ayman was responsible for developing the Takaful strategy for the MENA Region and managing the AIG operations in Bahrain. He held an advisory and assistance role for the AIG Asia Pac region to develop the Takaful strategy.
Prior to rejoining AIG, Ayman was the Chief Executive Officer of Dar Al Takaful Dubai, UAE.
From 2006 to 2010 Ayman was the Managing Director for AIG operation in Saudi Arabia and at the same time the General Manager– Middle East for AIG Takaful, responsible for the Middle East Takaful operations. Under Ayman’s leadership AIG Takaful Enaya was founded and two years later was named “The 2008 Best Takaful Company” by the International Takaful Awards in London UK
Ayman is a Chartered Insurer as well as an (ACII) Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII-UK), and he graduated with honors from The University of Memphis (Memphis, TN, USA) with a Bachelor in Risk Management & Insurance. Ayman has received a number of awards for outstanding achievement and academic excellence. Notably Ayman was awarded the 2010 Outstanding Achievement Award by the International Takaful Summit in London UK.
Ayman is considered one of the leading scholars in the global Islamic Insurance industry. He is the External Adviser for the Chartered Insurance Institute, London UK, in addition being a visiting Lecturer on Risk Management and insurance at numerous Universities and Institutes.
Marianne Scott Dwight
Marianne Dwight, a native of south Texas, is a licensed attorney and holds a BBA in accounting, with honors, from Texas A&M University, and a JD from Southern Methodist University.
Ms. Dwight has experience in both the public and private sectors, where she has focused primarily on business and financial matters, including establishing Medicaid HMOs with PricewaterhouseCoopers; serving as Assistant Attorney General, handling financial and tax matters; and serving as general counsel to the Texas Commissioner of Insurance, the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services, and more recently to the Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company.
Since joining the Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company in 2006 as general counsel, the number of funds in which the Trust Company invested, representing all asset classes including private equity, real estate, hedged equity, and fixed income, has grown from 20 to over 280, where she has personally participated in each investment, including creating a real estate credit investment management platform. Ms. Dwight serves on the Investment Committee and is responsible for all negotiations with funds from inception, including side letter agreements. She advises the CEO/CIO on agency and corporate matters, including matters related to legislation. She also manages legal and related issues concerning the three advisory boards of the Trust Company. At this time, the Trust Company’s AUM is more than $51 Billion, comprised of the State’s treasury pool, 13 endowments, and $2 Billion dedicated for the State Water Implementation Fund for Texas.
Debbie is currently the Investment Manager for Travis County, providing cash management and income investing for the County since 2009. Previously she has held various financial and investment positions for both public and corporate entities. As an investor relations professional she has worked with Active Power, Golfsmith, SigmaTel and Silicon Labs. From 1998-2000, Debbie worked in Temple-lnland‘s Treasury Department and managed cash and investments and capital fmancings. She began her investment career at Teacher Retirement System of Texas where she worked for 18 years; initially as an equity analyst and then as portfolio manager/investment officer managing a $1 billion small cap equity fund. Education: BBA in lntemational Business and Finance at University of Texas and MBA in Management from St. Edwards University.
